Roger Broders specialized in travel posters, creating nearly 100 images for the PLM railway in the '20s and '30s. His posters were always carefully constructed and immaculately printed, and evoked a golden age of travel like no other. This stunning view through the Arch of Constantine towards the Coliseum gives a sense of grandeur and timelessness that is unique to the Eternal City.

The Rome Express advertised here was one of the oldest luxury train routes. Beginning in 1890, Compagnie Internationale de Wagon-Lits ran its own speedy and luxurious cars from Paris to Rome, renting the use of the French tracks from PLM. The train was immortalized in the 1932 British movie thriller, Rome Express.
