In 1929, the Bremen became the first German superliner to be launched since before World War I. Highly streamlined, it shattered British supremacy on the seas by breaking all speed records for the Atlantic crossing on its first voyage. Combined with its sister ship, the Europa, the Bremen ominously signified a shift in the global balance of power and the powerful reemergence of Germany.

This creative design underscores the grand scale of the liner, which dwarfs an automobile being lifted on board by an unseen crane, as well as the animated embarkation scene below.
