L'Esprit Nouveau - Le Corbusier und die Industrie,
1987
This energetic poster promotes an exhibition at the Zurich Design Museum on Corbusier's revolutionary model home built for the 1925 Paris International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts. Corbusier's design turns its back on the prevailing Art Deco design and proved to be a pioneering design of the International Style which would bloom after WWI around the globe.
The poster was created by Max Bill, a design student in Zurich and the Bauhaus, who became the leading spirit of Swiss design after WWII. Bill returned to Zurich after a remarkable career in graphic and industrial design and architecture. In excellent condition.
