This is perhaps the most beautiful shirt ever created in a poster. Impeccably tailored with a luxuriant red tie, it comes complete with a well dressed man’s boutonnière.
Indeed, there are few lithographic posters that are more beautifully printed than this Object Poster, which took about 10 to 12 weeks to create and print. What makes it even more special is the handsome lettering, which complements the design with restraint and elegance. Note that the lettering is composed of four separate colors (requiring four separate print runs), all in perfect registration. They are as perfectly constructed as “the durable shirt” above.
Birkhauser was awarded a Swiss Poster of the Year Award for this poster in 1943.
