Hofbauer Klavier- Fabrik, 1910 ca.
Twentieth Century Modernism is exemplified in this Austrian masterpiece for piano manufacturer Hofbauer. The Vienna Secession played a pioneering role in the movement away from Art Nouveau's flowing lines, replacing them with a more geometric and rational structure. This design, filled with the juxtaposition of striped wall paper, a pin-striped shirt, and black and white piano keys, is the ultimate in refinement.
The pianist's skillful and delicate touch reinforces the Hofbauer brand, which was famous for its unique construction and light action.
This is the first time we've had the pleasure of offering this rare poster.
