Lu Lu Biscuits (2nd edition), 1921

Firmin Bouisset, d'apres poster: Lu Lu Biscuits (2nd edition)

In the Belle Epoque, as several spirit makers were evolving into large enterprises, some food manufacturers for olive oil, chocolate, biscuits, pasta and cheese became commercially significant as well.

A wonderful example is the little schoolboy poster for Lu Lu Biscuits by Firmin Bousset printed originally in 1897 for Lefevre Utile, a large manufacturer still in existence today. This poster was so effective and popular that it helped market these cookies for over 30 years.
