La Chablisienne - Ses Chablis Authentiques, 1926

Le Monnier, Henry poster: La Chablisienne - Ses Chablis Authentiques

Henry Le Monnier was one of the most popular French advertising artists after World War I, though little is known about his background or personal life. His style is defined by vibrant color and dynamic Art Deco compositions.
This poster of "La Chablisienne", or the girl from Chablis, shows Chablis (the northernmost wine district of Burgundy) as the epicenter of the globe. Garbed in a Roman toga, she holds a wine bottle aloft from which radiates a glow of blue concentric spheres. A perfect poster for a wine cellar, dining room or living area. Now very hard to find.
