Librarie Ed. Sagot Affiche Estampes, 1891
Cheret created this poster for a department store called The Beautiful Gardener, but for some unknown reason it was rejected. The design was quickly snapped up by Edmond Sagot, the pioneering print and poster dealer, who saw it as a marvelous supplement for his first poster catalog that was about to be published. This 5 color poster came folded and was included in the 112 page catalog for the bargain sum of 10 francs. It is surely one of the most beautiful of Cheret's posters. It is in fine conditon with fresh color. A joy to behold!
