Anisetta Evangelisti, 1925

Biscaretti, Carlo poster: Anisetta Evangelisti

Even a monkey knows that Anisetta Evangelisti is a great dessert liquore! Surely this is the most famous simian in poster art; it has now become very hard to find in fine condition.

The poster was designed by the multi-talented Carlo Biscaretti (1879 - 1959), a technical designer, journalist and illustrator born in Turin, who founded the Turin Automobile Museum and became the chief press officer of Italy in 1916. Like his famous monkey here, his first-rate automobile and auto racing posters are highly sought after.
