Lotteria di Merano (blind luck - Lg), 1940

Boccasile, Gino poster: Lotteria di Merano (blind luck - Lg)

Lady Luck, the Roman God of Fortune, is the star of this marvelous large format poster by Boccasile for the Merano Lottery. A full figured goddess blithely strides into the future, blinded as in classical iconography, but in this case by a lottery ticket. She seems to say, "Take a chance!"

This is the rare original lithographic printing. It is one of Boccasile's most successful posters, so much so that it was later printed as an offset.
