Mexico Olympics - 1968 (purple), 1968
The XXI Olimpiad in Mexico City was the first to be held in Latin America and the first in a Spanish speaking nation. Graphic design for the event would also be a distinctive departure -- inspired by the art of the native Huichol and the Op Art style of the Sixties, it blended the rich native culture with the kaleidoscopic and exciting reality of contemporary Mexico. This poster, created also in pink, perfectly fuses these two concepts with the Roman numeral 21 to create an dynamic image.
The poster measures 24 1/4 x 47 3/4 inches, is in fine condition and is archivally mounted on linen to protect the poster from damage. It is guaranteed to be an original poster.
