Die Weltwoche, 1949

Leupin, Herbert poster: Die Weltwoche

The juxtaposition of a globe with a folded newspaper to form an exclamation point creates both surprise and a powerful dramatic effect in Leupin's 1949 poster for a Swiss newspaper. Leupin's use of the globe was appropriate to his client, Die Weltwoche, or The World's Week, which uses a globe for its logo. It is one of Leupin's finest designs and is in the permanent collection of MoMA.
