Orient Teppiche - Sandreuter & Co. Basel, 1924
This is one of the most elegant posters ever made for a carpet store. Stoecklin, considered the father of the Basel School of poster artists, created a hyperrealistic carpet with a traditionally clad Indian noble reading on it propped up by a pillow. The design is so beautifully made that the viewer can easily believe the real carpets must be its equal.
