Jungfraujoch - Bernese Oberland Switzerland, 1946
The Jungfrau Railway took 16 years to complete and is one of the most dramatic in the world, climbing 4,000 feet in a tunnel carved through the Eiger and Monch mountains. It culminates at the Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in the world, with spectacular views in every direction.
Here the artist features the famous Jungfrau sled dogs (a ride for the kids is still an attraction) with skiers and a view of the Aletsch glacier in the distance.
