Cromer - Gem of the Norfolk Coast - LMS/LNER, 1933
Cromer, known as "the Gem of the Norfolk Coast," has been a popular seaside destination northeast of London since the early 19th century.
This handsome poster by Royal Society painter Walter Dexter was produced jointly by the LNER and LMS railways. It features the town's dramatic setting complete with the steeple of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, the historic Hotel de Paris on the waterfront, and the Cromer pier. A stunning landscape in the large horizontal British Rail format.
