IBM (rebus), 1981

Rand, Paul poster: IBM (rebus)

This is the original rebus design which Paul Rand created for a design conference in Washington DC for IBM's internal design group. Accordingly, very few were printed - maybe 100, but the design turned out to be so expressive of the IBM way that it was printed later with slight modifications as an advertising poster.

Along with the IBM logo designed by Rand, the rebus has become one of the definitive designs of all corporate graphics from the Post-War era. It is in leading design collections including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In excellent condition.
