Nantucket - Brant Point 1901 [artist's proof] (color), 2011
When the ferry rounds the Lighthouse at Brant Point, a grand view of Nantucket harbor and the steeples of Nantucket Town opens up and seems to announce "Summer is here!" Artist Richard Carleton captures this distinctly New England experience in a beautiful copperplate etching. Created in an edition of 150, 100 are hand colored in an array of hues.
The first lighthouse at Brant Point dates back to 1746; the current one is the tenth on the site and dates to 1901. It is one of the most picturesque spots in New England.
