Boston Cigarettes, 1962
Boston Brand cigarettes were sold in Switzerland with the tagline Nachfermentiert, which meant that they were specially fermented to make the flavor and aroma sweeter. The brand name was meant to evoke the milder American Blend of tobacco, plus the American city's cosmopolitan cache. Victor Rutz was one of the leading artists in Basel in the Forties, Fifties and early Sixties. Along with Herbert Leupin, Niklaus Stoecklin, Donald Brun and Peter Birkhauser, he helped to propel the Object Poster to international marketing prominence.
