Le Gout des Laques (from Le Bonheur du Jour, ou Les Graces a la Mode), 1920
Famed fashion illustrator Georges Barbier created exquisite portfolios of hand-colored prints that would become to many the quintessential expression of the high fashion world of the Twenties. His work also marked the beginning of a new angular and abstract style called Art Deco.

This large format print was part of an album to celebrate the joys of the day. "Taste of Lacquers" shows two stunning young women arranging flowers in front of a Japanese screen. Spectacular!
