Cossack, turn your horse and slay your real enemy, the freeloader,
1920 ca.
The Cossacks, famous for their equestrian and military skills, were highly courted by the Soviets as the Bolshevik Civil War against the Whites intensified. Dimitri Moor, the most prolific and successful of the Soviet poster artists, created this poster to appeal to Cossacks suscestible to the egalitarian pitch of the Soviets.
Here Moor literally skewers the Kulak, Priest and General who are the symbols of the Old Order.
