Imperial Airways - Get there by Air Taxi, 1931 ca.
Concerned by the rapid growth of German and French airlines, the British Government in 1924 provided subsidies to force the creation of Imperial Airways from the merger of four small UK carriers. Imperial linked the far corners of the British Empire until 1939, when it was merged with British Airways to form BOAC.

This early poster depicts a Westland Wessex/IV, a reliable 6-passenger trimotor with a 100-mph cruising speed. Only a few operated with Imperial, mostly for air taxi and charter services in the UK and to the Continent. This poster is quite rare; to our knowledge it is not in the Imperial Airways archive. Note the early Imperial Airways wings-and-lion logo above the text panel.
