Vasarely - Chateau de Culan,
1975
A bold, graphic lithograph for Victor Vasarely (1906-1997)’s exhibition at the Château de Culan in central France in 1975, depicting multi-colored geometric shapes in a Cubist style. In excellent condition.
Vasarely is a Hungarian surrealist and graphic designer who left for Paris in 1930 and subsequently became the father of Op Art in the 1950s. Vasarely was fascinated with abstract patterns and optical illusions. By the 1960s his work exploded into a movement much in keeping with the sensory experimentation of the psychedelic Sixties. This poster presents visual rich paradoxes that tantalize the viewer's sense of space and weight.
