Agis Punsch mit Vitamin C, 1949
This is a delightful early example of the humorous product advertising style from Basel that dominated Swiss design beginning in the early Fifties. This poster for a vitamin infused punch was playful and relaxed and perfectly fit the the post-war Baby Boom era underway around the globe. Fritz Buhler studied in Switzerland and Germany and traveled in France; he created dozens of successful posters and could work masterfully in every style. His studio trained many important artists, including Armin Hofmann, a future leader of the International Typographic Style. Buhler's work is well represented in many museums, including New York's MoMA. In excellent condition.
